I wonder if anyone can speak to changes to blood test markers. I'm familiar with ESR, CRP, but I wonder if PMR can lead to others going out of range. My blood test results yesterday. for example, showed PTH elevated to 10.3 pmol/L, slightly out of range. I wonder whether being on 3 weeks of 20 mg/day for 3 weeks had any effect. Thanks all!
says it shouldn’t make a difference in healthy subjects.
explains PTH.
What is your calcium level? And what was the normal range for PTH for your lab?
And by the way - PMR can cause raised liver enzymes, especially alkaline phosphatase. Sometimes spooks doctors who don’t know that.
Thanks Eileen.
My calcium 2.18 (range is 2.1-2.6) nmol/L
Alkaline phosphatase is 56 (range 40-145) U/L
PTH range is less than 7 and mine was 10.7 pmol/L
I see that both iron and transferrin were both a little under the range too
All sounds OK for now. Long may it stay that way!
