PMR, Prednisone, Feet, knee pain

i am familiar with people on this forum referring to feet and leg issues associated with PMR. HOWEVER, I do not recall anyone mentioned "roaming" pain, I.e., really sore foot after sitting...then, when walking, moving to the knee and thigh....then being ok for an hour, then returning. Is this arthritis or a combo of arthritis and PMR? Thanks.

Hi Kathy

I was just laughing with my husband saying I'm the slowest reduction on this site and envious of everyone.

Then i read your question and went yup, have that. I just sat down, legs raised sharp pain in foot then hip sometimes leg. I get this when i over do in the day.

My last year of pmr (diagnosed end September 2015) has been very stressful and busy so much of this i expect because I've done more than i should, how about you?

Are you overdoing? I also find by later in the day I'm done and this is more when these pains start.

I hope this helps, your not alone.

Mariane

Kathy, it moves around my body like a dark force.

My symptoms vary. Aching legs one day, lower back the next, my knee, my wtist, my shoulder blade, etc. I never know where it will strike.

Hi Kathy, I also have it in those area's right leg more than left, and my lower back. I can only move or stand for 15 mins, then sit 5 mins and up again. Very annoying: I do have arthritis in my knees etc, but my chronic lower back pain is new... I hope to get that sorted soon.

Wish you the best :

Yes, you are right...although, as usual, over-doing it can be elusive...what is okay for one day is not good for the next...Thanks!😊

It is a dark force!!😊

Good to have this input...I am happy to have it be PMR rather than something else again! I use the KT tape all the time...but move it around!

Hi Kathy,

I can sympathize with all of you. My pain somedays is everywhere or worse one day in my hips and shoulders, or the next day its my ankles and bottom of my feet. It changes all the time. I do a lot of stretching of all my muscles everyday even though I am sore because in the morning or after I sit for a while when I get up it feels like my joints are turning in to concrete and I worry about losing flexibility. Does anyone else experience stiffness??

I do feel quite stiff after sitting, like in the car, for awhile. Always stretching out, especially my calf muscles. The hot tub really helps!😊

I am really confused now because I get these pains too and was blaming them on my thyroid which is give me a little bit of trouble. But you are all saying that it is PMR related?

Yes I can identify Kathy. The pred has sorted the pain I associate with PMR in my top half but I am daily in pain in my legs and lower spine with a pain that is like a deep ache and it migrates around. Mostly it is in my ankles and my right calf muscle, but at other times in my hip, lower spine or down my shins. Like others here, I had assumed it was associated with OA which I have in my spine and right hip but increasingly, after reading so many similar responses on this site, I realise it is related to PMR. I must say the almost constant ache in my ankles and calf does exhaust me and I would love to be without it. Paracetamol does help a bit. Good luck with this horrid journey.
