I am 20 wks post op and had few problems not a straight forward RTHR one week ago after loads of pain had s steriod injec in hip tool certain amount of pain away but groin still hurting real bad. Kept trying to ask doctors what is up, anyway last three days had this immense bad crunch popping in my hip like it is dislocating and again this morning it happened when bending tying lace to go up to doctors. So painfull I felt real sick and made me cry, doc sent me to hosp for xray, they said prostisis looked ok. Feeling very down as have limited movement in leg,what do I do cause getting nowhere and just keep getting passed over. What do I do niw
Georgina sorry to hear of your pain and worry about your replacement. This is obviously not normal. I would ring your surgeon and request an appointment if you have not already been taken off his care. If you have you probably need to go back to gp to arrange urgent appointment. I would have thought a scan would be necessary to rule out other problems. It's not fair when a major op like that is followed by problems and there is no support. Keep us posted on how you get on. You may get replies from others on this site who may have similar problems and be able to give advice.
Thanks Debbie I have sent email to consultant and I think my doc is so soul distroying to think Yu have hip replace and all will be fine but tge pain bin so crisp and still off sick as my job won't let me bac till fit. Very fed up now need it sorting x

I have undergone a RTHR and various revisions. When I had a revision in July my hip started sublaxing (popping in and out of socket) and then I dislocated completely twice within 2 weeks. My X-Ray also looked good prior to the dislocations. I was the revised again for a larger ball part of the implant but then get an infection. The sublaxing is back again now with the larger implant but I took a video of it on my phone and showed the surgeon I called him for an appointment. Again the X-ray shows all good but even he said it wasn't right and is concerned. He aspirated the hip and guess what I'm infected again. I know exactly what your going through scared to move etc the pain is terrible but trust me it's nothing on the full dislocation so don't let it go that far. Get in to see the surgeon. Mine was a very complex case and dud to metal on metal reaction I had to have majority of muscle removed so that won't help my case but you do need it checking by the surgeon. Try to film it noise and all to show him because he will get a better picture.

Poor you Georgina. Keep pestering hospital because something in clearly wrong. The hospitals seem to get rid of us too quick and text book ...it takes time .... Seems to be standard. Do you have access to anyone at hospital. If so call them don't wait for gp
Can I ask snape31 when yours sub laxed if that is what its called did Yu have xray and it still looked ok , just starting to get quite scared something bad gonna happen three times in as many days it felt like this crunch/pop but xray showed ok
Also hip is hurting like hell today had crap nites sleep

Yes Georgina the X-ray looked in great shape mine is going now as I type this crunch the pop but it also feels like it's actually falling out of socket. I've put a video on my facebook it's not very clear but the popping sound is and its while I'm sat down moving my leg feel.
