porridge stool

I have ibs-d.I have porridge type stools. How can I solidify my porridge stool? And what is the cause of it? Thanks in advance.

Rice is good.

Dorset87,thanks for quick response.Rice and dal is my principal diet still I have that type of stools.

it is just diarrhoea, your stool has moved through your intestine too fast and so the water has not been absorbed. you need to eat low fibre low fat. plain food such as bread, crackers, rice, oats, chicken, fish (no sauces) are a good place to start. sometimes your body just gets stuck on fast forward when you have IBS so you have to take immodium for a bit to sort it out.

Try a food diary to see what foods may be causing the mushy stools and look at Fodmap.  Bananas can help to firm you up and Imodium. You could ask your doctor for codeine.  Imodium and codeine helped me through an IBS A attack which triggered diarrhoea for three days.

Hi, fibre, probably insoluble fibre, wholemeal bread is likely the highest in this fibre, Chia seeds have very high fibre, I put about a tablespoon of China seeds in a glass water soak for a couple of hours stir a few times add a bit of juice and drink it, it's goes sort of glutinous, check out Chia seeds online they're full of loads good stuff .

Thanks  leeniepie,

Fat is not suitable for me but psyllium husk capsules work     for me.

Yes pippa raw banana helps me a lot. I will try codeine tab.

Thank you very much.

Does Chiaseed contain soluble or insoluble fiber?psyllium husk works me well.

Thanks.

Good luck..
