POSITIVE Thoughts only!

I am astounded at the abundance of negative comments being posted on this forum. I am yet to receieve my results for Genital Herpes and came here looking for support and comfort...; I have all the symptoms and am quite sure I must have it. The strange thing is I developed blisters after a virus I had 5 years ago (Time when I first became sexually active) Both me and my bf at the time were each others first sexual partner and as far as I know he didnt have Cold sore herpes either. The doctor did a test for herpes as I had a blister or 2 down there and It came back negative. She said it must have been a symptom of the "virus" I had at the time and it was my bodies way of dealing with it. It went away and I never thought twice about it. Fast foward to now and I am experiecing the same symptoms as I did all those years back except this time a lot worse. Last week I had an accident which caused a lot of trauma to my Vagina region. I have a split down below which is in a tremendous amount of pain, with pus. I am thinking that perhaps I did have the virus when i was tested all those years back and it came back as a false negative (dosen't really make sense to me though.. seeing as we were both virgins before eachother) and this trauma has triggered another outbreak. Either that or I dont have the virus just very similar symptoms...

My recent doctor has informed me that 1 in 3 people have GENITAL herpes now.. So why is there such a stigma surrounding this STI?!

and I hate how negative people are about this virus.

1. It is not deadly!!! Imagine being diagnosed with cancer or something that is LIFE THREATENING.

2. It can be treated, managed and Im sure there have been cases were it has even been CURED. Just think, a cancer patient is always told by a western doctor/soceity that their illness is incurable. You either chose to accept it or you say F@#$% that im fighting this thing and im not letting it ruin my life.

One example is my own mother. She was diagnosed with Colitis an inflammotary bowel disease which she was told was incurable. She sought out other forms of medicine and stumbled upon an amazing Chinese Herbalist Doctor. With the right attitude and medicines catered speciallfcally towards her needs she was cured within 6 months!!!!!! She has never ever had colitis again!

There is always HOPE in any sh*tty situation. Even if I do have it I am thankful its not life threatening and I have an amazing support system. I have a new bf (only been with him 4 months) and he is incredbily supportive. It dosen't matter if he was the one who gave me the virus, who cares if you have it, you have it! Theres no turning back. For those that don't have that support around you, I hope you see this and hope it gives you enough strength to diminish your negative thoughts and helps you overcome your dark days.

Think of all the POSITIVE stories  and outcomes. At the end of the day its like having a cold sore, just down below. Yes the first outbreak is horrendous but everyone goes through severe illness at least once in there life! There are so many examples of patients that have been treated and only get outbreaks once every few years or none at all! So many cases where people don't even know they have it/ forget they have it because they have maintained it so well! You have to work on getting your immune system stronger, work on a positive mind set and surround yourself with people that love and support you. You don't need to tell anyone if you dont wan't to except for your sexual partner..  But it does help to talk to someone.

Both my bf and I have an extremely high sex drive and up until now we have always had sex at least twice a day when we are together. Nothing is going to change this! Obivously have common sense and dont have sex when you have an outbreak/sores present, but once these are gone youre back to normal! Its not like you are a diseased person and can never be touched. Think of it like a menstrual cycle.  It comes and goes, can be annoying, can disrupt your sex life but as soon as it goes everything is fine!

Keep your heads up, seek alternative therapies, believe you can cure yourself and you will see a difference.

There is always a light at the end of the tunnel.

Hi Hope,

I agree with everything you say.

I just found out I have herpes and had my first outbreak before christmas. I had to go back to the clinic and once I was told most people have it etc. All what u said I am feeling like this is not a bad thing.

Each person different and some are strong and some not so strong.

I mean once I went back to clinic spoke someone about herpes as did not know what to do next. She said nothing and thought I had to tell my doctor.I came out of feeling so much better. Was given leaflets. After then feel fine.

Thank you Hope000 xx
