This link is for a strain of herpes that is very contagious and reoccurring...can be very painful and still attacks the nerves just like shingles. I went to my Dr yesterday for another outbreak...same Dr who thought it was shingles the first time I went to him about this. I am lucky enough to have a Dr who is not a pill pusher and wants to find answers. He went and researched the 8 known herpes viruses and I really think he hit the nail on the head. With mine I have all of the symptoms of shingles...sore throat, fever, blisters, pain ECT.... The difference is (and you can't be absolutely positive without lab work) one is reoccurring and the pain tends to no last as long and the other is not reoccuring. Seems a lot of people are initally diagnosed with shingles but when it ends up reoccurring it turns out to be a different strain of the virus. It seems all 8 strains are treasured with the same meds and I didn't feel the need to go through the expense of labs to get the "official" results. In so thankful to find this group and know that I'm not alone and I really think I found my answers. I hope this will help some of you and I pray for relief for you all....
