Possible calcified hematoma on skull

I recently discovered I had 2 bumps around 1 inch - 2 inches in size on the parietal bone. At first I got very scared thinking it may be some kind of tumour growth but then realised I has banged that area against my radiator around a month prior to that. I thought nothing of it at the time and just applied ice to the area, I had some decent sized bruising but didn't go to get it checked up (I'm an idiot). I've left an appointment with my doctor for the 26th of May to get it checked.

I'm just wondering, is it possible I had a hematoma from the injury and now the hematoma has calcified thus leaving me with a permanent hard lump surface on the area? I've had a look online and I see that hematomas are generally very serious and generally don't heal on their own. Was I lucky?

Thanks

Hi Erika; I just realized that no-one replied....I was awaiting others' answers, as I couldn't give anything positive to say.....even as a Nurse for nearly 30 years, I hadn't come across "a haematoma tourning into a Calcified lump".....if you are still concerned, perhaps try and get that GP's appt sooner, and let me know, as I am curious too.......Bron

I thought calcification of some hematomas can be common if they aren't treated properly initially? The bump has to be related to the injury as it's in the exact same position. It's actually 2 bumps really, one smaller mass on the left and then around 2cm to the right a bigger lump. It feels bone hard literally but no pain when I touch it. GPs in London are atrocious with booking slots.

Ok,  so it;s upto us to think more re this....how about I ask some colleagues/research and get back to you?.....Bron
