Hello! I want to start off by saying I'm new here & found this page because I'm in the middle of freaking out and googling things to figure out if I may have genital herpes. A little back story I slept with a guy in 2016 when I was 19 years old and we didn't use a condom. Afterwards he told me he had herpes but then said he was joking. I blew it off cause I was young and also I never showed any symptoms throughout the years. It's now 2021 and I'm 25 years old and have recently had strange things appearing on/around my genitals. At first I figured it was something kinda like acne and it went away. It doesn't happen every month just randomly here and there but when I do get them they're painful and uncomfortable. Well I have noticed about 2 weeks ago I have one bump on the right inside crease of my labia. It's painful and sort of burns and seems like there's a little puss. That side of my genital lip is also sometimes itchy but not exactly where the bumps is. Is it possible to go 5 years without symptoms? And the MAIN question is, does this look like genital herpes (HSV2)?
its hard to say because herpes looks different for everyone. the good thing is, since it has been since 2016, IF it is herpes, your body will have developed antibodies which can be found in your blood. go to the doctor and ask for a herpes 1 and 2 IGG test. its very important you get the right test. do not get an IGM test, those are only for brand new infections. the results only take about 24-72 hours to get back. the doctor will know what that means. then you can put the worry and wonder to rest
It could be a fungal infection.
Consult a dermatologist.
