Possible herpes a year later?

I have been in a relationship since April 2015, before that the only person I slept with was in January of 2015. I have had no side effects or worries until this past January (2016). I had two sores on the outside of the vagina. I thought maybe it was an ingrown hair from shaving, and it went away in about 4-5 days. Well I had another bump show up in February that lasted just a few days as well. Now I am worried that it might be herpes. I do not believe my current partner to have infected me or to have been with anyone else and he has not had any sores. Could it be possible that the person I was with before could have infected me and it took a year to show up?

Usually it would take 2-20 days for the sores to show up after the initial infection. However, it could be possible although very unlikely that you could have contracted the virus and had it show up. Herpes infections on the genital area usually take 2-3 weeks to clear up, so if your sores had cleared up in 4-5 days it may be unrelated. The initial outbreak is often the longest, and the outbreak after the initial could occur months later. Doesn't sound like it is herpes but if you have had a cold sore before on your lips or face, you would know what a herpes infection feels and looks like. If possible, ask your partner from January of 2015 if you want to be certain. If the bumps show up again, go to a doctor.

I currenlty have HSV I and II and never had any serious outbreak, just two small bumps on the head of my vagina once (the V) which I thought at the time were just ingrowing hairs. I also had swollen lymph nodes but no severe outbreak.

Possible

Yes..it's it very possible ..I had herpes almost 2 years before I found out smh

Asymptomatic herpes this is where you have the virus present in your system but do not have or present any symptoms. It is also possible for you to transmit the virus to other in the absence of an outbreak or any other symptoms, as in my case, so just be cautious.
