This is something I’ve noticed maybe a few months back. The way I grip my penis puts the most friction on the thickest part, especially on the right side because I use my right hand, and in that area I noticed some of the thinner visible blood vessels go from a greenish to a sudden dark purple-ish. It’s not like it’s just some different colored blood vessel, it’s in the specific area where my shaft gets the most friction and I can see where the color shifts. I’m wondering if it’s damaged.
I’ve been meaning to try stopping and see if it would heal, but recently I couldn’t really help myself and have been doing it quite frequently. Unfortunately, I don’t have access to any lube either. I don’t feel any pain from it, but today I felt a tingle from the area for a bit. Given how long it’s been, I’m concerned about permanent damage, but I haven’t noticed any significant physical drawbacks from it. Any ideas?
Hello, I am not sure if it could cause damage, it is possible the skin is irritated and has made the blood vessels appear to have a more purple colour. It may be worth getting checked by a health professional, especially if it is causing you to worry. However, I would suggest you either try to do it less frequently or more gently. You may be able to find new ways of pleasuring yourself that are more delicate. Additionally, you could look into getting some sort of natural lubricant such as safe oils (coconut, olive, etc.) or aloe vera. Masturbating is a normal and healthy part of life. However, if you are finding that it is interfering with your life and relationships (especially in addition to pornography consumption), this can be problematic. Talk to your doctor if you are finding you feel ‘you can’t help yourself’ frequently.
I don’t think it’s enough of a concern to me because I can still achieve an erection just fine and for the most part I feel no pain at all, there are times it just makes me feel uneasy. I’ll take note of the suggestions, thank you for your feedback!
