I new to this forum so if I am not doing this right I apologize. I had my gall bladder removed 8 years ago right after birth of my son. For the most part everything went great and I have not really had any major issues or so i thought. Ever since i had my gall bladder removed I have had issues with pain medication. Since having my gall bladder removed I have had severe stomach pain when taking pain medication such as hydrocodone. Ever since my gall bladder removal i get intense stomach pains up in to my right shoulder almost like gall bladder attacks Pain control is now a concern of mine as I am scheduled to have a hysterectomy in two weeks. Is it possible that this is related to no longer having a gall bladder. Anyone else ever experienced this? Thanks.
Hi astrid645a, I am sorry for your suffering. You may want to ask your doctor about Postcholecystecomy Syndrome as this may explain the pain you are experiencing. Also, your stomach acid levels may be too low and digestive enzymes can be very helpful.
