I had a tooth removed today - it had broken in 2 pieces and couldn't be saved, plus was veyr loose. I went to a private dentist, Other extractions have been under NHS dentist.
Procedure very smooth and pain free. At end he put a dressing on - I wasn't aware of it because of the LA, but he said it was iodine and cloves, and to bite on the gauze below it until I got home, no mouthwashes today etc.
Good afternoon, no pain or discomfort, but as the anaesthetic and swelling went down I felt the dressing slide and eventually slide out. No bleeding from the socket.
Should I be worried or do anything? He said that when I started to mouthwash 24hrs later with salt water, if I was doing it correctly I would get bits of the dressing come out. I have never had one at all before with any extraction.
Any advice please? Or am I just worrying because I have never had one before,
