Never having had surgery for all my life, I had surgery at 62 and have developed anxiety which is getting worse. Original surgery has all healed fine but never felt right since it was completed. Dr tried anti deps which i couldnt tolerate, also gave diazepam. Every day is a battle.
is there such a thing as post anaesthesia anxiety, i wonder if the drugs given have done this.
What did the doctor say regarding it?
I'm not sure if anesthesia could cause this, but perhaps underlying stress prior/post surgery brought it all out.

Stress is very difficult to figure out, but a few methods, you mite wanna try and apply to your life to over it naturally. 1. Activated Charcoal....this will help soak up any toxins left into the body from foods, and medications, use for one week 5 days for a detox and always drink plenty of water with it. 2. reduce your diet to fish, turkey, veggies for a week and see if what your are eating is adding to the problem if the problem calms down then you will know food added to it. To help relieve stress, Chamomile/Lavender tea in the morning and at night. If the stress is chronic Chamomile/Lavender/Lemon Grass tea for powerful stress relieve.
It was four years ago inhad spinal surgery for herniation. This anxiety started iMMEDIATELY after i came home, followed by p.e. Now on warfarin.
cannthese all be taken when on warfarin do you know.
Could be. I have never had an anaesthetic before. Dr gave diazepam first then mirtazapine but it has not suited, nor any others he tried.

Are still suffering the pain or are you sensitized from the op ?
I have an Anxiety that belongs to my disability, that affects most of my Body. At the moment my RH Arm is causing me problem, the Pain is from the shoulder, down to my elbow and it is affecting my fingers. My thumb was operated on disconnecting a tendon and now the pain is really bad and when I extend my arm shooting pains shoot down the arm and pull at the thumb.
I was lucky I had treatment in a pain Clinic and that really helps. I have problems in my Spine as well. I suppress the Pain with a V-TENS machine and it does seem to work for me. Have you tried a TENS OR Pain Pen ? Ask your GP regards Tens, possibly a PHYSIO may be able to explain how to use A unit.

Do Not take any of those herbal teas, or activated charcoal with warfarin. The teas are high in vitamin K and will stop warfarin in its tracks and, charcoal will soak it up... But you can mix the teas in hot water and breath it in for smoothing effects.
