Post op gallbladder: what’s typical?

i had my gallbladder removed 5 days ago via laparoscopy. I’m feeling well over all, however, I have a dull, achey pain where my gallbladder used to be. Is this typical or should I be concerned?

nexia its normal, Try not to worry. Im 5 weeks post op and honestly its a week or so until it calms down and at least 3 weeks until you feel fully normal.

I questioned the same thing and was reminded that they did more work on the inside than they did on the outside so expect healing inside too.

unlike pictures / diagrams the space between organs is full of fat and tissue. They have to get through that. Plus you GB is actually attached via a small membrane to your liver, That has to be cut away etc. Sorry to be graphic but just to illustrate what youve been through is by no means a small task

that being said im not a medical expert of course. Listen to your body and if you think it gets worse then always good to get checked out.

Good Luck

This is very normal, where they clipped it off so don’t be concerned you have a lot of internal healing ahead. Keep taking pain meds and take it easy for a while.

its normal if you asked me, i went through the same surgery, i was pooping bland about a week, then everything went back to normal, and of course some discomfort from the surgery, remember they stabbed you on the outside and inside as well, it takes awhile for your body to heal.
