Post op hydrocele

Hello there,

My partner had an operation 12 days ago to remove by lateral hydrocele within his testicles. The majority of the stitches have healed around the upper portion of the the testicle but he is still experiencing blood from the lower area. When he moves the testicles around we can also see a slit where the stitches seem like they aren't tight enough. I have photos of this to assist further. Please can you advise me on whether this is normal or whether we need to visit a doctor.

Thank you,

Sarah

That wasn't my experience, seems like a visit to a doctor would be a great idea. I don't think anybody would be able to tell from pictures. The stitches I had go away by themselves so don't need to be taken out. In my case, the scab stayed for probably a week or two and finally fell off. I never noticed blood after I removed the bandage after a few days.

Thanks Paul.

He also received dissolvable stictches but they haven't dissolved after 12 days, is this normal?

He has also had stabbing, but is now only on the lower potion of the scar. The top came away within the shower. The rest is painful for him to remove.

i will definitely enquire about a drs appointment.

Thanks again,

Sarah

Scabbing* apologies.

I didn't pay attention to when the stitches dissolved, but I think I could still see them for several weeks. Interesting, my main scabbing was on the lower part of the incision as well. I didn't try to remove the scab, I just left it until it fell off on its own which was probably several weeks.

I had a hydrocelectomy myself(about 3 months ago)I was curious to how his recovery is going, is there still swelling at this point in time?
