Hi
The main thing I was dreading was being sick, it would be so painful. I have been having the shakes/soups for 4 days now but don't fancy them anymore. The thought of taking anoher milkshake makes me feel sick. I am drinking plenty of water - does anyone have any suggestions.
Try yoghurt or angel delight x
I've been drinking alot of fruit juice... im hooked on Apple juice. Also I've been having a yakult in the mornings. Have u tried cuppa soups? X
No I haven't! Maybe try making smoothies with fresh fruit as long as they aren't too thick!
Vary your soups so you don't get bored! X
Im a week into my liquid diet.... One more week to go!!! I have never ever looked forward to puree food so much!!! I can't wait lol x
I was told I have to have the soups and shakes for 4 weeks - have you only got to do it for 2?
I think every surgeon is different.
I was only soup and shakes for 1 week then I could have mash and jelly etc in week 2 and by week 4 I was eating normally pretty much x
I've been told by my surgeon two weeks liquids, two weeks puree and then normal food x
you can have a bovil drink - or veg boullion drink or a very clear soup I made butternut squash soup which i watered down a lot so it wasnt thick (the way i normally make it) Least if you make a home made soup it somehow feels better than a tin or packet etc - try some different flavoured cups of tea for a change but unfortunately you have to keep at the thin consistency for those first 2 weeks x
yes im with Healthier weight was told 2 w
eeks liquid 2 weeks mush after op x
Im with healthier weight too, where did u have your op? X
Im at exactly the same stage as you!
Do you feel hungrier now after everything has healed? Im starving! Lol
Im starving.... I can't wait until Sunday to have pureed food all I keep thinking about is different foods and recipes that I can puree lol x
had my Op in Birmingham with Mr Super and having my fills in Manchester as its nearer x
Ahh I had mine in London with Prof Favretti x
he is suposed to be really good x
I have noticed a lot of people have a milk diet before and after having their band fitted. I'm lactose intolerant so wouldn't be able to do this. Are there other options?
i think you can substitue milk for almond milk or soya milk - possibley coconut milk. You will have to discuss with whoever you go with for alternatives but Im sure there will be some x
Hi, just to say, I never had a milk diet before the op, just had to have 1000 calories a day for 2 weeks beforehand. Afterwards, you can have the soups instead of the shakes so you won't need to have the milk. You may have to take calcium tablets instead, I'm sure there will also be other alternatives.
As for the pre op diet, it depends on the surgeon and each individual patient!
