initially was walking quite well with walker. Day four started to have inner thigh muscle on left leg that started to prevent me from putting full weight on left leg. Will this too pass????
Hi Jamie,
I don't know what to tell you - What do you think?
It is possible that you overdid it - or took a step that was incorrect ? Are you full weight bearing on both hips?
Eventhough you had the anterior approach I think you still need to use caution and not overdo it - it is still very early in your recovery, so do be gentle with yourself-
Please keep us posted how you are getting on ... sounds like you are doing well!!!!
big warm hug

Look at your leg (or get someone else to look if you can't see it properly). You have almost certainly started to develop post-op bruising...
Hi Jamie ~ I was told by my physio that anything muscular, aches and pains and swelling for a long time is all completely natural and normal and to be expected. It is not comfortable or pleasant but will improve as time passes. It is no fun dealing with the swelling, I tried to see if I could kneel by bending my knee, I can't tell you how bad it was, the pain was awful! It was due to massive swelling around the knee, and leg.
Try icing the legs, and gently massaging (or someone could help you with this) elevate when resting. It WILL get better honestly. You are over the worst for sure. Big hugs.
That is quite true. In fact only on that leg is there bruising and exactly where the weakness lies. Does that tell me that maybe the muscle is bruised too and will heal?
Quite normal I am afraid, jamie, I felt as if I had been kicked by a horse.
It wears off as the bruising comes out but it will take its time.
