Post op recovery

Hello, new here, decided to join as was good reading others' experiences. In January had my right eye operated on, was amazed at how easy it was & barring the jab in eye & a bad head pian a few hours after, all settled well, I have reading glasses now whereas I never did before, am licky in I can manage with the cheap ones you can get from store although I have also got prescription ones too (only for at home, the others' a more funky, I have several pairs to match outfits)..oh, am 46 by the way, so quite a young one for cataracts but poss down to steroids for eczema...anyway, yesterday, went back for left eye, diff surgeon, still a good smooth op but.....the pain I have had in head & back of eye has been intense, esp. when I try to focus on close up things...has this happened to anyone else, it's so sharp & I catch my breath...also, now first one has settled I can see lots of floaters, is this cause for concern? Thanks x

I got floaters too especially when reading, look up then down, then left, then right and they disappear for a bit. Now I hardly get them, left eye was done 7 weeks ago, apparently sometimes they can' hoover up all your old lens and bit s get into the middle, lelly part of the eye causeing floaters, but in time they get absorbed. But most people hae floaters when they look at a white sky  for instance. I shoudn't worry too much, but make sure optician knows.

About the pain - I didn't get this in either eye, right eye done 3 weeks ago, soreness for short periods (half an hour), but of itchiness.

You shoud ring th emergency number they have given you and sound worried.

Sorry, good luck

Thankfully all gone now & I seem to be having quicker recovery time too, just the floaters to annoy me now, hoping they will recede in time, thanbks x

That's a relief! They told us to get in touch immediately if there was any pain. Every one has floaters as I said, I found looking up and down helped, still get them occasionally, but no bother. So pleased with the sight, just amazing - you must be too, Teresa, ggood luck ...
