post op update

:D Just a quick update after my sphyncterotomy 3 and 1/2 weeks ago. I can't believe how well everything has gone and how i'm back to \"normal\" so soon!

The healing process was really quick, and after my body learnt how to go the loo naturally for the first time in years (had to use suppositories previously) I feel like a new woman.

I read a lot of entries on this site about diet, fibre, fruit, water etc. and used to be a slave to making sure i'd eaten the right amount of everything each day, all to no avail. It wasn't until having the op that i found total relief from the pain and depression of this affliction.

I would recommend the surgery to anyone and urge them to overcome any fears they may have about it. Its completely changed my life.

Fantastic news there! Hope it all carries on improving for you! My op is coming up soon ,and I cant wait!

:D just a quick word to everyone looking for help on this site. I was in agony for the past 5 months with a very deep anal fissure. I have had the op 4 days ago and am on top of the world. The pain is completely gone. When you wake up from the op you have no pain...at least I didnt. My first poo 16 hrs later was pain free. I spent a fortune on docs and ointments and ate all the fibre foods but when I went to the toilet the pain would be still there ...I even thought I would be sick as I was going to the toilet with the pain. I sit all day at work and it was agony...even driving I could not get comfortable and then suddenly there would be some sharp pains which would make you scream! ITS ALL GONE! My advise to anyone is go and have the op. It is immediate relief from the torture !

Now youre talking! Encouraging news there mate! Just had my op date brought forward .I too cant drive /sit at work/get sharp pains etc ,so Im looking forward to some peace! 2 weeks or so to go!

Regards...........
