hello All, came home yesterday after 5 days in hospital receiving right hip replacement. Still have pain in hip and added bonus of sciatica through that area. That aside I want to ask if anyone has experienced beginning of flu like symptoms... sweating, sinus pain, sneezing... but it never develops into anything.... apart from being a virus could it be withdrawal from post op morphine based drugs?
feeling very weak and no appetite. I have no energy to complete exercises or walk more than a few metres. Somewhat concerned.

Could be an infection. Call your surgeon immediately.
Yes I was exactly like that John. I normally love my food but it took quite a while after I came home to start to actually enjoy the taste of food again. Also I felt drained. Just walking across the room was enough. But then again I was still anaemic so that didn’t help I suppose. I’m now 7 weeks and eating well, no pain on walking but my legs feel sooooo heavy. I don’t know why they do but it takes me ages to walk anywhere these days. At least I have no groin pain though!
Turns out I did have a mild flu like virus... dissipating now thankfully. Not welcome!
It’s getting better.. right buttock feels like a piece of wood, muscles not yielding . Unfortunately the exercises- stretches I can employ to shift this are directly detrimental to the healing of the hip! Small steps. But feeling better. Thanks for your mail.
