post operative surgery for bladder prolapse

with insertion of sling with mesh, what symptoms have occurred? After several months evidence of cerviacal pain has occurred. Has anyone else experienced this?

I have suffered a lot since having a polypropylene mesh sling surgery since 2003. I had difficulties spending a penny. I suffered pain in my bladder and the low back pain came back. I have also suffered from groin pain on my right side which feels like glass sticking in and can get so bad that I cannot put my foot to the ground. On top of it the problems caused by this mesh is in turn causing problems for my thyroid condition. I would get it removed sooner that later as the longer it is in the more harm it does and the harder it is to remove. Did they tell you it is not designed to be removed or the problems it can cause.

Just wondering if they used the same kind of mesh now in 2015 as they used in 2003? I thought they had to ban a certain kind of mesh so this wouldn't happen again to other women, the pain they have and the suffering from the mesh.

As far as I know all these mesh devices were based on a withdrawn one and a lot of how they got back on the market is due to the FDA's 510k system. Some models were taken off the market but it did not include the TVT I had, but would I have had it if I was told it was permanent and involved serious surgery to attempt to remove it my answer would have been NO. I have just returned from seeing an Endocrinologist who now does agree that something else is causing a problem in turn affecting my thyroid./ When things started going wrong after this mesh surgery they refused to allow me back to the surgeon/hospital, and to make matters worse all records to do with the actual surgery were sent into a warehouse that went up in flames, so all I can say is what were they trying to hide. My knowledge now is that in the whole of England there are only two surgeons with experiance in removing mesh, and that the surgeon who implanted mesh had no experiance in removing it. If a surgeon attempts to remove mesh without experiance he is liable to worsen things further making it harder for an experianced surgeon. I am under one of these surgeons and have appointment on 5th Oct. Be very careful on which surgeon you have remove mesh if it comes to that.
