Post opportunity 6months

Hi all, I have just noticed that my operated side ankle is swollen I have no pain or redness, but I have been doing spring cleaning for the last few days, so I just called my gp and she was not worried about a possible dvt but she wants to see me tomorrow morning, so now I'm stressed out, anyone else had this so long after the op? I am due to get the right one done at the end of the month

Hi Lynn, My ankle swells when i have been on it alot or eat something  high in sodium I had to change my diet . I crave carbs salty foods somethimes changing the foods we eat.  also drinking lots of water helps.  Take rest with pillows under your legs that seems to help too.

take Care

Jackie

I haven't had my op yet Lynn but I do suffer from swollen ankles, my GP says it's due to standing too long or inactivity. I perhaps think you have been on your feet too long if you have been spring cleaning.

Hope you soon feel better xx

Dear Lynne .... better safe than sorry, as the saying goes.... let us know what your GP said ... my ankle does get swollen too, usually when I have been standing too long -

Hi Renee,

well my GP said it was fine, unless there's any pain or redness in the calf muscle alls good, she thinks it's just that I was spring cleaning and using it more than usual lol, anyway it's gone back to normal now so alls good x.

Hi Jackie,

well my GP said the same lol too much spring cleaning, as for salty foods, I have cut yout all salty additives like stock cubes seasonings etc, being anglo american I have found a great ebayer who sells US spices and foods that are totally salt free, if your  interested the site is 'taste of america, and you need to look for all products called mrs dash,

hope this is useful to you,

regards,

Lynne.
