Hello,
I a writing here because I read many conversations about Blefaritis but I am never sure if the people have anterior or posterior Blefaritis.
I've suffering from this for a year now and I found nothing to work. I also had a surgery in my glanduls with no so great results...
I have blurry vision and i am really desesperate because I cannot find 1 person how has been cured or at least relieved of this horrible symptoms. I am really depressed.
Does anybody know if the WET Ones help for my condition?
Does anybody know someone how has been cured?
Do you have some advise....
Thank you so much
Hi, i have posterior, but i also have mild anterior. I too have blurry vision quite frequently and dry eye from some of the glands being blocked. Ive had it only since March. I so far have only done the compresses, lid wipes and omega 3 fish pills. I get discouaged and have alot of anxiety from it. I am thinking of trying Doxyciline in the next few months as that has helped alot of people. Frankly Ive been to 3 doctors and they really dont know as much as Google. They also trivialize the problem. Xx
No the west ones don't work the postrial blep.. another name for your condition in mgd.. it's not curable but some peeps can manage it with daily routines.. what surgery did you have on your glands?
Hi
I have Blepharitis, my eyes were really red, itchy and puffy. I don't know if these are some of the same symptoms that you have. You can't cure Blepharitis unfortunately. The way I keep on top of it is by using Blephaclean wipes they are available on Amazon. I clean my eye lids and around the eye with one wipe every day in the morning. These work really well for me. I also use a tiny amount of coconut oil round the edges of my eye but not on the eyelids as I feel this stops it from getting dry. I do it in the morning as it gives it time to dry in and work. You should give that a try and see how you get on the wipes are really good. Baby shampoo and every other alternative didn't work for me. give it a try and let me know how you get on! Hope this helps.
I have no idea, doctor and optician only said I had Blepharitis didn't really explain what type
Anterior is the outer lid. Xx
Hello Andy, Thanks for your fast asnwer, i had my glanduls cleaned, it was a easy but expensive surgery, I am living in Barcelona I paid 1100 euros.. I am a little bit relieved and some days i am better than others, I had it 3 weeks ago... The surgery was 20 min and you dond feel anything.... the clean the glanduls with needles , the procedure is called Blaferoplastia in the Meimobian Glanduls.
I have to say that I think our conditions is curable, the fact that they don't know how to cure it yet (maybe pharmaceuticals do know) i doesn't mean is not curable... I need to beleive that can be cured...
I also recommend acuputure, it is making feel some relief as well.
Not all doctors will tell you about the surgery you have to go to a specialist.
Lets not lose feith !!
Hello Daniela, I have suffered from Posterior Bleharitis for many years but it is only this year, that a different specialist gave me some antibiotic drops, called Azyter the generic name is Azithromycin. He gave then to me to use daily for a month, along with the usual cleaning methods. It was only after using them for 3 weeks, that my eyes started to improve. My eyes were quite good for a couple of months & I have just used the eye drops again.
He also suggested that I use an eye bag on my eyes. It is something that you heat in the microwave & place over your eyes [follow the instructions]. I could feel the 'plugs' in my Meibomian Glands melting.
I don't believe that the condition is curable.
Good luck.
Hi there
I have a mix of anterior and posterior.....I started with chronic dry eye and suddenly 4 months later the bleph developed. Ive been doing the routine of warm sterile water and baby shampoo twice daily , no improvement. Then ophtamologist suggested doxy cos I asked for it but despite having the prescription I didnt commence on it yet as I wanted to try alternative therapy so I went to a Naturopath. Im two weeks into the diet and also using the herbs she gave but no improvement so Im feeln a bit despondent and wondering did I do the right thing.Maybe Im being impatient but Im feeln very tempted to just go and start on the doxy...I have to say I hate having this, this probably sounds vain but not being able to wear eye makeup isent nice for a woman..I agree with you Daniela, we all have to remain hopeful that they will find a cure. What gets me is they have found cures for far more serious conditions and being able to discover how men can walk on the moon but in 2016 no cure for eye inflammation /infected eyelids. Very hard to believe....
Thank you so much, I will ask my doctor about this medicine.
I will check about this eye bag seems really comfortable to use... instead of boiling water and steaming my eyes.
Hiii
I was thinking about doing a natural therapy, I now they are really slow. We want to see improvements right away and with the bleph that doesnt happen...
If you see you improve please let me know. I suggest you to try acupunture i feel some difference after some days of going.
Lets be positive, I must believe there is something to cure this, I am sure there is a cure out there... it just have to be found!
To tell you the truth, I don't know the difference between anterior or
posterior........I've had this awful business for about 25 years. It comes
and goes....i just do the soaks and use Occusoft lid cleaners and put
Systane Balance Drops in my eyes. i just had both eyes done to
take care of cataracts. The surgeon suggested the Systane drops and they
seem to work best for me......try them and good luck. I've tried the
Wet Ones and my lids got so dry I got scared of the stuff getting in my
eyes....try it all and maybe you will find some help....
Is that an antibiotic drop, steroid or both? Will have to check that out. Xx
It is an antibiotic drop Lee & it was a Consultant at Moorfields who prescribed it for me.
I do use steroid drops too, Dexamethasone.
Thanks so much for the info. Xx
New eye drop being released in August for dry eye. Probably will be expensive, will wait and see if it works for others. Ive ben given go ahead on doxy. What dose did they give you. My doc said 100 mg for 6 weeks to start. However have read on the net low dose works just as well. I mentioned this to 2 docs of course neither knew about that. Wish these docs knew more what they were doing. Also guess theres a manufacturer of doxy that makes a coated tab that is easier on the stomach. Let me know if you take it. I probably wont for a few months,my sons wedding is coming up and scared my stomach might get messed up xx
What is the new eye drops for dry eye called?
