I had my posterior prolapse repair on the 19th. I'm pretty certain I pulled a stitch on Christmas Eve. It's isn't bleeding a ton or anything but there is a small bulge (almost like a hemorrhoid) on a part of my repair. Should I let the doctor know or wait until my appointment on the 6th of next month?
Hi Meg
Would you say the stitch was an internal or external stich that you pulled? if internal then I wouldn't worry too much as apparently there are layers of stitching. If its an external one and that is where the bulge has appeared then maybe you should see your doctor or just take it extremely easy from now on. You will need to rest and as the weeks go by and the swelling reduces and everyting goes back into place the lump may well dissappear. Good luch hope you are resting.
Hi Meg, I read your discussion and wondered what the doctor said about what looked like a haemmaroid that you can see? I have the same and I saw my GP as not seeing hosptial consultant until late Feb.She said it may need to be quarterised off or may shrink on its own. She said it wasn't a pulled stitch. Can you let me know as GP is obv not a specialist. Thanks K
I ended up seeing two different doctors because mine was out the day I called in and they wanted to see me right away. I was told to take it easy and be more careful but that everything still looked very good. I saw MY surgeon this week and he agreed. Said that I need to give the tissue time to heal before judging what it will look like.
