Pounding heart in the middle of the night

Hi ladies have any if you been sleeping and get woken up by pounding heartbeat lord it was scary it went away quick but it truly scared the crap out of me

Hi Monique yes I do too last night mine was beating away getting use to it although it can be scary it will stop.

Hi Monique, yes, this happens to me occasionally.  Mine tends to come from panic/anxiety and deep breathing helps.  I know other ladies here have mentioned different causes and solutions.

I sure do. During ovulation and the week leading up to my period. It's very scary. I'm used to it now though. I just get up and walk around the house and take a few deep breaths until it calms down and it does fairly quickly. I 've been checked by the cardiologist and my heart is fine and was told it is hormonal and very common. You are not alone and it is very very scary.

Yes it wakes me, feels as though I'm squashing my heart, so I stretch out to give it some room.

yes Monique a few times Ive been back to the doc a few times and the body still reacts when you are sleeping espescially when you are stressed or going through anxiety lucky I havent had it for a few weeks

Thank you Maria my gosh it scared the crap out of me

I've had a few scary, fluttering, pounding and racing heart episodes that wakes me up.  Really thought my time was up and probably still will if it happens again cause it is seriously alarming. Didn't realise other people got it too. xx

Yes I wake up with a pounding heart some mornings. Last week or 2 I have been having palps. Just lightly sometimes during the day. Its disconcerting because you never usually feel your heartbeat. I have heard palpitations are common in peri?

Hi Monigue I get this all the time usually early morning and I can't get back to sleep it brings on terrible anxiety and the doctor won't give me anything hope you get some peace 😕

Yes, monique but I discovered St. John's wort calmed my heart I would say almost immediately. Gosh, I know the feeling and how scary it feels to have your heart pounding. But St. John's cured it for me at least.

Yes I get mine at night but havent had one for a few weeks now i have had more palps in the day but I am going through the menapause also i drink a cup of chamomile tea every night before bed
