After months of waiting I have finally got a date for my operation 18th April. Today is my pre operation day. Only trouble is I have just had a chest

Infection and today take the last of my antibiotics. I hope this won't be a

problem and delays the operation. Please keep me in mind today. Will

let you know. Thanks. X

Oh joan I feel for you I had a blister on my heel from some new party shoes and was suposed to have mine done 5.12.14 but they wouldnt do it so I had mine done 5.3.15 at least I was mobile for xmas. Let us know how you go on x x good luck x

I doubt that will be a problem if you feel well and have had antibiotics. But I will keep my fingers crossed for you and hope all is well.  Keep us posted xx

Should think you will be ok if you have been on antibiotics will be thinking of you let us know how you get on x

I also had a stonking cough right up to the day if the op but they still went ahead and as I was on pure oxygen after the op the cough went !

So I expect and hope you will be fine - good luck

How annoying after months of waiting. Hope this does not delay your op.

When I had TKR nearly 3 years ago I just had an epidural so was awake during surgery. That might be an option if they do not want to put you right out of it.

As long as you are not still taking antibiotics by mouth you should be ok. I had an infection in the run up to my op and they just confirmed that I had completed antibiotics before going ahead.
