Pregabalin again!

I tried Pregabalin couple of years ago for a few months. I didn't see much difference. My doc has put me back on it and said I would benefit more when I up the dose to 100mg a day and take it for longer. Can anyone tell me what their experiences are of this drug? My doc is also checking my vitamin D levels. Has anyone had a vitamin D defiency?

We were just discussing Vit D, nearly everyone in the UK is deficient and its wort h taking supplements daily as symptons of deficiency are muscle pains and fatigue. As to pregabalin, I tried it but it didnt work for me, but everyones different and its trial and error with fibro drugs, good luck xx

Thanks for getting back to me so quick. Fingers crossed it works this time.

Hi a few years ago l was put on a drug similiar to yours but within 2 weeks Doctor had to take me off. The side

Effects did not agree. I think any pain tablet cannot help fibromyalgia. I am now on morphin capsules but does not eradicate the pain.

Yes, my Vit D level was low, my GP has prescribed Vitamin D3 (Fultium) but I only started it yesterday. He says it will be a month before I start to feel the benefit. Also I was prescribed Pregabalin by the Doc I saw at the pain clinic. Started on 75mg once a day, then increased to twice a day, then gradually increased over months to now on 225mg twice daily. Seems to help a bit but again everyone is different. Tried Gabapentin previously but couldn't tolerate the side effects. It does seem that any painkillers only work for a while anyway.  I sometimes take Tramadol, sometimes Co-codamol, sometimes alcohol! Hope you find something that helps you. x

I were on that for 8 months..Side effects were, severe headaches, dry mouth, could not link a sentence, coming out with wrong words, increased weight, dizzy, drunk feeling. Doc would not take me off them, so I weaned myself off..And lost 12lb..Never taking them again.
