Pregabalin

Hi all just wondering what long term side effects you have had on this drug? I've been on it for bout 4 months and my toilet habits have changed find it really hard to pass stools and really have to concentrate to go for a wee

Hi there.  I've been on it about the same length of time and it supposedly causes constipation but I had really bad diarrhea before so it's made me more normal. I think I wee about the same amount but I'm not up and down thr the night anymore as the night dose knocks me right out

The consipation is driving me nuts and keep thinking I've got something wrong!

Apparently it's a side effect. I hadn't really thought about it until the dr mentioned it. It's just made my toilet habits a bit more normal

I have been on it around 12 months now the main side effect i have noticed is weight gain. Im eating less but putting weight on with pregablin. I spoke to my consultant about it and he said it is very common and also constipation he did say to me that with this type of drug they are other tablets that come under the same category which are amitriptline, gabapentin, nortriptline and prebalin and he said personally out of all of them i would use pregablin as a last resort the other tablets are alot more safer and dont have the same side effects

I have put on about a stone and a half with the pregablin and I hate it. It's not a lot for most people but I started off at about 9st so it's quite a lot on me.It's making me feel really uncomfortable. I have spoken to the dr about it and she says it's not a bad thing and I needed it but that doesn't make me feel any better and I had always been the same weight and size. I know I'm less active at the moment so have to try to get moving more and be a bit more careful with what I eat but I don't want to start calorie counting. I got my prescription yesterday and the phamacist mentioned was I getting headaches. She's the first person that really mentioned them. I have had them for about 4mths now and they're really getting me down. I ache a lot of the time and still have some of the original pain but I think I'm in less pain now they I originally was with all the side effects. I don't see my consultant again til Dec so looks like I'm going to have to suffer until then
