Premenopause?

I am 47 and have not had a period for a good 8 months..I have several hot flashes per hour and loss of sleep and anger issues! I started amberen 2.5 months ago and it has helped with everything but seems it has quit working and looking into the progesterone cream. Making an appt with dr. Today since I can not function like this. Want a more natural way to deal and get through this!

Testy - I started with wild yam cream (USP Progesterone). There are several brands: Anna's Wild Yam Cream, Progesterall, Progesto-Life, etc etc....I have started with the Emerita Pro Gest. I had my saliva test done to confirm very low progesterone. I am seeing marked improvement with emotional symptoms and I am thankful that I sleep through the night all but about 2-3 nights per month just before my period (if I have one!). I realize some of us need to try a lot of different things. I'm giving this cream 3 months. I am feeling very positive and confident about it but I do have a plan b and a plan c! I'm almost 50 and missing periods. Take care, Testy!

Thank you! I just went and bought the Emerita pro-gest yesterday after doing research on it. I am on day 2 of 5.5 hours of sleep with no naps. I am hesitant on seeing a physician in our small town as my previous one believed in natural treatments and the new one does not so looking for a new physician. I also quit smoking 5 months agp so, I believe this and having a low thyroid( which I no longer take meds for because I felt better off then on the lowest dose possible, runs in family but never had a good reading)

So doing my own research. Weight gain joint pain but the hot flashes are the worst..I know this is part of life and thankful that my husband is supportive. I have cut out caffeine except my morning coffee, that will not happen! Guess I should start thinking about some calcium also since I have a love for pistachio almond ice cream which is weird since I am not a ice cream eater until recently..I am a firm believer when you crave something you have a deficit in that.

Thank you for replying and I will post about results on the pro-gest cream!
