Hi, I’m 21 years old, A week and 2 days ago I had intercourse with a new partner and was unprotected. The next day I noticed I was sore in my vaginal region, particularly at the base near my perineum. I’ve torn before, and I had recently shaved, so I assumed I had a friction tear from the encounter. Now a week later I have had painful red patches where it hurts to urinate, and I decided to examine myself, and found a few other red bumps. The bumps are lone, in random spots, and when compared to photos of HSV2 looked quite different. I will attach a photo (I apologize for the tampon string, currently on period). I had very thick white discharge and itching for a week, and I get frequent yeast infections. My vulva is sore and swollen and itchy, but the bumps/ sores are a new thing. I just started a new job and don’t have time this week to go get tested, I was just curious on opinions of what to think... thank you.
I’m so sorry, I know how you must be feeling right now. It’s such a scary condition and hard for us to accept. I’m assuming that they’re starting to heal now since I thought I seen you post this question a few days ago. We can not diagnose you, the best thing is to go get it swabbed but your results could be badly impacted if you’ve waited a while. A swab needs to be taken ASAP. I’m sorry to say but this is exactly how my case of hsv2 started out. Even looked similar to yours. The fact that you’re sore and itchy definitely makes me 99% sure this is herpes. MOSTLY herpes plus bacterial infection
So the earliest appointment I could make was next thursday, I checked with the guy that I slept with, he went to health department and got tested two days ago and came back clean. I was miserable yesterday and decided to try Monistat just in case it was a yeast infection, so it wouldn’t get worse. Already better after one day, the spots are shrinking, redness going down. I think my deciding factor as to thinking it was yeast, was that I had raw skin between my butt cheeks with no blisters/sores whatsoever, consistent with spreading yeast. Looked just like a yeasted diaper rash.
Could also be yeast because you get the same bumps that painful when you urinate. Yeast and herpes are
Similar and did you ever get tested for herpes before him and was clean because it could have been dominant inside you way before your new partner and jst didn’t know it and jst got an outbreak .. deff get tested
I just got swabbed this morning. Fingers crossed it was just a yeast infection, if not, its not the end of the world. I’ve had a lot of time to think about it over the last two and a half weeks. It’s treatable and so many people deal with it everyday.
