I have had this pressure that eminates from the sinus or cavities behind the nose for about 4 months now. It started gradually and now is a constant pressure that causes lightheadindness / dizziness and headaches. it gets worse when I move or do anything physical, especially when I move my head down. I know it is trapped air that is causing the problem, it's as if i have sinusitus and i'm on a plan. Popping my ears helps reduce the pressure for a few minutes but it tends to build back up again. 4 weeks ago whilst feeling particularly pressurised I popped my ears whilst yawning and pulling my left ear, what happened next doctors have a hard time believing. Loads of air came out of my left ear, as if like sticking a nail in a bike tire. This lasted for between 20-30 seconds. afterwards, I felt great, no head pressure, no headaches, no dizziness. I think this could well be a breakthrough for a lot of head pressure cases I read on the net. For that day I had my life back, sadly the next day it just seemed to build up again. The problem is that there doesn't seem to be much research out there on this and it is very hard to live with it. I would say its like a constant uncomfortableness and pain about 3/4 out of 10. When moving this increases and I have had some really bad 10 out of 10 headaches. i'm interested in other people who have experienced similar sympotoms and what the outcome was. This does seem curable, but ENTs don't seem to know anything about it. I'm positive this can get resolved in the future but its up to people who are suffering with this to get this condition out there and into public knowledge.
Years ago, had same symptoms. It was my first encounter with sinusitis, thought I was dying.
steam, lots of steam. And I used Otrivine nasal drops
I have this and done a recent post
I'm getting headaches and head pressure I feel like mmy nose is dripping behind nose bridge feels really heavy i keep getting dizziness and light hheaded my ears feel like there on a plane but tthey won' pop and I wwon't pop them I'm scared to!
Unfortunately I'm still waiting for my Dr to refer me for an ent I hope we find a reason why this is happenin because I struggle to llive with it
Hi. I've had an MRI scan and apparently I have no sinus issues. It does feel like they are blocked though causing my Eustachian tube to struggle to open. I hope it is sinusitis but I've true lots of things for that to no avail. How long did your sinus issue last and did you feel the pressure build up when you moved your head?
Hi, yes it's hard to live with as it's constantly there. Try blocking both your nostrils and blow your nose gently, it may well help. How long have you had this and did it gradually build up over time?
I'm scared to i hate going dizzy! It's about 6 month but it's gradually getting worse but I am paying more attention to it aswell so II think I'm making it worse
It is worse the more you think of it. Does it get worse the more exercise you do or when you move your head down? The dizziness is a sort of light-headedness for me, it's hard to take but popping ears helps with this.
Try not to be scared Shauni, hopefully we can get to the bottom of this. I'm seeing a Dr that specialises in ENT and also have a follow up appointment with an ENT on 20 July. I feel this can be cured.
I am having similar problems. I have a heavy feeling in my nose and it it feels like a pressure or like something is stuck there. Kind of like i'm deeply congested or like part of my nose has grown together deep inside.. I can't really explain it. Sometimes my whole nose hurts to from the nosebone to the tip and end of the septum and a little bit of my upper lip. I can change the feeling by moving my head. Some headpositions it feels more... I wonder if this has something to do with ethmoid sinuses or maybe its a nerve problem? Sometimes i think i have air trapped inside my sinuses that cant come out. Are you cured or are you still suffering?
You're not alone Tommy. I have been searching and searching the internet to find someone that have found a cure. It is so frustrating to have doctors look at you like you fell out of the sky. Or, look at your scans and say "everything look normal" when there is clearly something wrong. There is something that we all have in common. We just have to keep searching and praying that we find a cure.
I feel this discussion so much lol... I also have a lot of head pressure and frontal movement on my head and near the nose bridge.. been everywhere did so many test everything normal except my allergy test so could be that been on medication for a month now and I’ve seen small improvements but doctor tells me it’ll take some time to relieve the symptoms.. it sucks I get head pressure and also dizziness and feel out of it. Started last year and it has reduced since then so.. idk I need ressurance it’s allergies cause I work with dogs and i think that causes it..
I have been going through identical symptoms. Have any of you found any relief.please share. Need help
I have been feeling alot the same symptoms of lightheadedness dizziness pressure on nose headaches accompanied with head fog and cognitive impairment. I've had blood work done, x-rays, MRI but everything comes back normal, I've even began going to the chiropractor to see if it has anything to do with my neck alignment. I get blood work done tomofor my thyroid but I don't think that is the issue. If you or anyone in this thread have more info please share, I too want answers.
Hello all, I’ve also been experiencing these symptoms for around 5 months now to no avail of a cure. At first I thought it was related to my anxiety but the physical manifestation is like nothing I’ve experienced before and the dizziness is most prominent when walking around or after eating food. In terms of symptoms I have; near constant dizziness or just feeling off/off balance, stuffy ears, slurred speech, sensory overload (sometimes although could be anxiety related) and leg weakness. The GP said my ears are perfectly clear however when trying to blow my nose it is impossible to equalise the pressure I can feel. It just sort of bubbles up, then back and the dizziness remains alongside headaches. Definitely seems more of a sinus issue.
Please all let me know how you have been progressing? I will schedule another GP appointment for next week, never been so much in my life! Really wishing you all the best in getting to the bottom of this and the solution!!
im sorry your going through this problem, i have been dealing with it for a year now as well, recently ive underwent a surgery for Estachiean tube dysfunction and my pressure was equalised in my ear. i really belive this is what is causing your problem, as the symproms mirror mine. ETD balloon plasty is expensive but its the newist method to dealing with these constant pressure problems, the cheaper merhod that temporary relived me from pain was the tool called (ear popper) but otis media occured and made it worse over time along with a few inner ear infectoms. hang in there everyone and staying positive is key.
Did anyone find the reason for this? I’m experiencing the same and doctors dont know what it is. I need help!!
Ditto to the above, anyone had an accurate diagnosis yet? I have a chronic headache, lightheaded when walking, slightly stiff neck, bridge of nose varies from brief spells of feeling normal and then feeling like it has been punched (but does not hurt when touched), eyesight prescription has worsened and I have 'white noise' chronic tinnitus in both ears. The initial symptoms were inflamed lymph nodes at the top of my neck / under jawline. Currently awaiting result of an MRI scan of my brain. Thanks in advance for any light that someone can shed on this.
hey all if its helpful i was diagnosed with midfacial segment pain or atypical trigeminal neuralgia with my neurologist. not much research done on it but explains the nose, forehead and eye pressure without having real sinus issues hope everyone gets better!!
I too have the same symptoms. I am guilty of blowing my nose too hard in the morning and as a result, now have constant pain underneath the top of my nose, my eye always feels swollen and i have a constant dizziness that never goes away. I have had all the usual scans etc and show nothing up. This sounds crazy but hitting the top of my nose, the bridge, gives me relief for a couple of seconds and then it all comes back again. It feels like something inside needs to release but never does. I hope one day someone can find out what is causing this as i have had this now for 29 years. It would be nice to wake up, not feel dizzy and have no pressure, headaches or pain.
I was prescribed 'Mometasone Fluroate' nasal spray and my sinus issues have cleared up. I still have chronic tinnitus, but my balance seems to be improving. I had a neck X-ray which showed some spondylitic effects due to age/wear and I'm seeing a physiotherapist to see if neck exercises and heat pads help. I suspect the balance and tinnitus are inner-ear related issues, but I'm told that issues with the cervical spine can result in my symptoms. We'll see. Anyway, I can recommend giving the nasal spray a try.
