Hi ladies.....I've not posted in awhile because I was feeling a bit better, but now I'm experiencing another weird symptom...it's sort of a prickly/tingly sensation in (or maybe it's on) my skin, particularly my legs and arms. It feels like very, very dry skin, but more "actively" tingly, if that makes sense.bits not present all the time, but it's happened once before and again today. If it matters, this would be the week when I would have normally gotten my period, but it's failed to appear.
Of course, I'm terrified that it's something horrific, although I've read that this can be a perimenopause symptom. Has anyone else experienced this or heard of it being related to peri? I'm really stressing out over it....just when I thought I was doing better I'm back to being a nervous wreck
Is it something like restless leg syndrome? I am 57 and going through a late, miserable, prolonged peri and have recently starting experiencing horrible restless leg syndrome that sounds like what you describe. I also occassionally get that prickly sensation on my arms and I have to look to see if there's a spider on my arm! I don't know if this is attributed to peri or just getting older and falling apart. We don't have the best genes in my family.
Hi wearykitty, that kind of sounds like what I get at times, though I cant really describe anything properly these days, I sometimes think its like a tingly electricity feeling in the legs and arms and I think I have felt it on my face, sometimes it feels like its on my skin like spiders and sometimes it feels under the skin. I have been wondering if it has something to do with the nervous system due to the declining estrogen, though could be anxiety but I am not so anxious these days, so who knows. Just try not to be a nervous wreck about it, we have all survived many other rotten symptoms and this is just another one...big hugs Jo xx
HI, IDO HAVE A WEIRD PRICKLY TINGLY SENSATION TOO, I HAD IT A SOME TIME AGO AND I WAS TOLD BY MY FRIENDS AND DOCTORS, THE IT WAS DUE TO MENOPAUSE, EVENTUALY IT WENT AWAY , IT WAS ABOUT TWO YEAR AFTER I STOPED TAKING H R T.SO I HAD A 5YEAR BREAK AND DECEIDED TO HAVE ANOTHER GO AT NATURAL H R T , BUT KNOW I HAVE THE PRICKLEY FEELING ALL OVER AGAIN LEGS, HANDS, NECK , I DONT REALLY KNOW IF I DONE THE RIGHT THING BY STARTING H R T AGAIN , BUT I DO HAVE MORE ENERGRY,, I DONT KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT PERI AS I HAD A HYSTERECTOMY AT A YOUNG AGE, GOOD LUCK
Hi kitty I get the prickly in my arms and legs it's normally after a hot flush so it's memopausal I've just had one now. It's very irritating but goes away just another symptom to deal with.
Wearykitty, don't worry yourself, it's one of those at this time of our lives. I have been experiencing it though it's kind of on and off. It's back after about a five months break. Well, we keep encouraging ourselves, all these shall pass but when we don't know. It's kind of different sypmtoms after the other. Hold on tight and try to make yourself happy though I know it's easier said than done. Hugs
Yes, I had that same thing for 6 months and it was terrifying...I thought I had every disease under the sun ....then it went away...and comes and goes...whenever it feels like it..I had it from my feet all the way up to my head...but no tests showed anything...everyone said it was anxiety but now I now it was prob hormones
Recently have had the spiders crawling over me but it was all over, im only 39 so think this could be related to my peri, not my age loI i have today got some sort of weird rash on my neck and chest but nowhere else all these new things are happening and its quiet strangexx
Restless leg syndrome can be helped very much by using "magnesium oil" directly on the legs. Magnesium is a muscle relaxer. Please give it try. I've had this problem myself and the magnesium helps very much right away.
I feel like I have insects crawling over me with hot pins and intence itching on my arms sometimes else where, Ive been using olive oil which seems to be helping, along with trying to eat a well balanced diet.
Also, I would not be surprised if most skin conditions have to do with liver issues. If the liver is being taxed with meat (red meat especially which is the worst thing you can do to your body-it causes cancer) and too much or the wrong oil, or just eating the wrong foods. All fast food is horrible for the body. Canola oil is a machine lubricant and destroys the nervous system (they are trying to sell it to you so of course they will say it is 'good for the heart' and other nonsense. Take Vit D and eat a very fresh, vegetarian diet, mostly vegan and you will feel DIFFERENT!
Also get your thyroids checked by a real thyroid specialist, as most doctors cannot read the test results accurately. Finally, try meditation (my favorite is bhakti-yoga). Its wonderful for calming anxiety.
Someone asked about coconut oil. That is very good for the brain and get the freshest oil you can. Heck, get all the freshest food that you can. Make sure the store has a good 'turnover' of their oils. Trader Joes sells a lot of oils. Canola oil is a machine lubricant and destroys the nervous system over time. Look up erucic acid, which is the toxin in canola (rapeseed oil). Dry skin usually indicates a liver issue (take care of those livers!) Google "liver, foods good for" to find out more. You should know by now that the best foods for health are vegetarian and organic.
