Problems post TURP

I'm 6 months out from a Bi-Polar TURP. No improvement. I get up at night and start and stop several times. Sometimes I do not empty and have to come back to finish. Generally pee pretty well in the mourning when I get up and after coffee. Taking Flowmax which I thought would be able to flush down the toilet.

I had turp and still had to use catheters for two months afterwards .
However It is three years post op now , and I pee very well compared to pre op, but still often void twice or even three times on occasion . I would rather have my bladder mostly empty than walk away after voiding one time and then have to come back again an hour later . I have learned to take my time when standing over the toilet
Even after all this time it feels like my bladder is still improving and regaining its strength and elasticity , so on the whole I am happy . If I have a few beers it feels as if Im peeing like a teenager.

Give it time and hopefully things will improve.
How old are you and what were the reasons given by your doctor to have TURP.?
I am 67 and pre op was holding 2 litres of urine in my bladder . I had to use catheters for 10 weeks prior to my op also.
Hang on in there !

What does your doctor say about this? What is your PVR (post-void residual)?

I’m at two months and have seen significant improvement. Peeing is almost back to normal - with an assist from Oxybutynin to combat a little OAB syndrome while the tissue completes the healing process. Sounds like you need to head back to the urologist and maybe have another go. According to what I’ve read, a TURP usually gives significant relief.
