Problems Relaxing

Hi, for several months now i haven't been able to relax and enjoy what i'm watching. It's like the anxiety/my head keeps checking to see if im "into it" "am i really enjoying this" then you get the "i'll never get over this" and other negative thoughts. just constant checking. i'm a huge film fan and it plays a major part in my life

i've been on 20mg Citalopram/Celexa since late Mat and have now upped to 30mg 2 weeks ago.

Does this sound like it's just anxiety and with the medication and time i should get over it or could it be a bigger problem? does it sound like th medication should make it a lot easier?

Thanks for any help

Sounds like anxiety is putting a lot of negative thoughts in your mind and it also causes us to doubt  ourselves and to check and recheck.

Anxiety causes an over anxious brain.

this is happened to me more times than I can count and it's very frustrating.

sometimes medication can help us relax a little, but it may not completely take away our negative thinking and doubting.  You can talk to your doctor about that.

YouTube has some excellent meditations for anxiety, fear and self-doubt, or just relaxing the mind, anxiety. Just about anything you want

 they completely call me down.

another thing that helps to put your mind at ease and in a more positive state is learning how to breathe correctly when you're anxious. It keeps you in the present moment instead of your mind racing. You can  how to do this on YouTube by searching for 10 minute breathing meditation. There are others to choose from also.

 feel better ❤️❤️❤️

Certain meds don't work for certain people. I would think by now the Celexa would work. You may want to think about switching to a beta blocker instead of a serotonin regulator which is what Celexa is. Also adavan, kalanoppin, and xanex can help with the initial panic attacks and the muscle spasms. Seriously though, if it's been since May, you should be feeling relief by now. Time to try something else.
