Problems with digestion - 6 years now

Hi guys

I'm really at a wits end. Most of my problems started back in 2012 after I had an ankle operation with severe constipation, feeling full all the time and getting sick after eating pretty much everything other than very bland foods. I had gallbladder removed 2013 followed by total colectomy in 2014. Now constipation issues are resolved but I'm still having issues with my digestive system. I very rarely feel hungry. I'm unable to eat large amounts of foods or I get sick (e.g., heavy, full distended feeling) - not for a few hours, but a couple of days. But even my 'safe' foods can set me off. I also suffer with silent reflux and sometimes get a bad taste in my mouth even with medication (I take Parriet).  I had a gastric emptying scan a couple of years ago which was normal but only went off my medication 48 hours before. The only test that showed slow emptying from my small bowel was when I had a transit series before my operation. I"m losing weight because I can't eat enough to sustain so I'm really not sure what to do. All the specialists seem to give up on me because I'm so complex. Currently taking motilium, creon for pancreatic enzyme insufficiencies and parriet. Any advice or help would be appreciated. Thanks smile

Gallbladder removal can trigger digestive problems.  Was your bowel resectioned?

I'm not sure - I know I had all my large bowel removed.

If all of your colon was removed you would either have had it resectioned, in other words linked back together again, or you would have been given a colostomy bag.  Your surgeon would have told you what was done or at least should have informed you.  In any case you would know yourself which procedure you had.  If it was resectioned, everything would be working as normal; if you had a bag you would be able to see it and have to empty it.

Ok then no was resectioned as I have no bag.

That's good to hear because a resection will make life easier than having a bag.
