Prodromal symptoms

Hi there,

I'm looking for advice on how to prevent an outbreak from progressing onto a full blown blistery one when you first detect prodromal symptoms (e.g. itching and tingling)

I have tried applying tea tree oil to the area but this does not seem to help

Many thanks

Do you have antiviral meds? Valtrex, Acyclovir? Take 2 (1000mg) in the morning on day one, then one a day until your clear of symptoms.

I wouldn't put anything on this area that might be irritating, and I would think tea tree oil could be.  Valtrex really works.  Within 24 hours of taking it I get relief.  I've used it for a full blown outbreak and also to avoid one when I had the irritation presymptoms.

I feel like I have tried every home remedy known to man. If you do notice any symptoms try coconut oil, I found it to be MOST helpful plus you can apply it anywhere and also it's wonderful for yeast infections. Coconut oil has antifungal and antibacterial properties and can help fight off Skin infections.

Yea valtrax wrks for me as well i tak it everyday....even wen im not havin a ob but i get symptoms my first ob was my only one since i hav been on my meds.....i keep my genitals clean i also tak daily epsom salt baths and i stay stress free seems to b wrkn so far

Does the medicine make you really sick? I have bad reactions to antivirals. I tried taking it so many times and I feel like I'm about to pass out or I have to lay down. I get extremely weak, is that normal?

Lauren try taking it with a meal See if that helps or put the pill in yogurt or applesauce and swallow together. That's what I have to do.

Thank you so much!

Is it normal to have diaorrhea during genital herpes outbreak?
