I've read online that up to 50 percent of people have a painful itching burning prodrome with the appearance of the boils. I have this terribly all over groin area into legs and also hip joint pain. Does anyone else have this?
Hi Amy, yes I get the itching and burning before a flare up and can tell it's about to happen. I had it bad for years in all areas but at 41 have it mainly under control by avoiding some foods.
For interest nightshades are pretty heavily anecdotally linked to both HS and arthritis... Ie inflammation
What areas have u had it?
I didn't know it was possible to have HS on legs. I've only had it on my arms, groin, breasts, and butt. Can you talk more about the legs?
Groin in the earlier years, butt, and armpits. Armpits are where I mostly get the sensation (about 12 hrs after eating something that's going to trigger it, and about 12 hrs later the redness and what follows)
Also acoompanied with a verrry long history boils and cystic acne on neck, chest etc. Very hard to say they're not HS when it accompanies the rest... but due to their location I don't think they are
