At the moment you should be doing very little! I had a vaginal hysterectomy 18 months ago and felt fine from day one. No pain or discomfort. Thought I'd be back to normal in next to no time. Rested for the first week and then started short walks - all fine. At 2 weeks post op I twisted awkwardly to pull a plug from a socket behind a sofa and later that afternoon I had a really bad bleed. I think I had torn some stitches so had to rest for a couple of days. If you Google your procedure you will be surprised to see how much stitching there is. Did you have an anterior repair to your bladder? If you did, then the stitches will run right down your vagina to secure everything!!
Don't be tempted to overdo things. Try and find something you can do that's restful, like reading etc. I actually wrote a short novel in the 6 weeks after my op!

Mein Chirurg sagte, ich solle 6 Wochen lang vorsichtig sein. Keine Hausarbeit und nichts Schwereres als eine halbe Gallone Milch heben. Ich hatte meine 6-wöchige Nachuntersuchung und er hat mich für etwas mehr Aktivität freigegeben und gesagt, dass ich nach weiteren drei Wochen vorsichtig zur normalen Aktivität zurückkehren kann. Also für mich betrug die Einschränkung etwa 9 Wochen.
Aufgrund der kleinen Schnitte heilt man außen schneller als innen.

Liz . believe me do nothing for the first 2/3 weeks. Listen to your body , if you over do it you will know about it. I had a TAH 10 weeks ago . Just went back to work this week . . One of my friends told me some advise. And it was . You get one chance.
Ich bin überrascht, dass Ihre Entlassungsunterlagen das nicht spezifiziert haben. Eine vaginale Hysterektomie sollte eine kürzere Erholungszeit haben als die 6-wöchige Norm für eine Bauchhysterektomie. Aber da Sie auch eine vordere Reparatur hatten, würde ich denken, dass 6 bis 8 Wochen notwendig sein werden. Die Hebebeschränkungen könnten auch strenger sein und es könnte einige lebenslange Hebebeschränkungen geben, zumindest das ist, was einige Frauen berichtet haben. Haben Sie Ihren ersten postoperativen Checktermin bald? Das sollte dann alles erklärt werden.
I'm 6 weeks post op I had a total Vaginal Hysterectomy , I was able to return to work after 2 weeks ( office Manager ) so I don't really do any physical work. but No sex , lifting or bathing for 6 weeks.
just don't over do it just because you feel like you can, I also felt great from day one, it took the incision on top the longest to heal, it still has a small scab. the other 2 on the sides and the one in my belly button healed the 1st week.
just take it easy
