I've had strange recurring nausea for nearly 9 weeks now. I can clearly rule out stress and anxiety as I can hear and feel that my stomach isn't right, although i have had no vomiting or diarroea. My GP diagnosed chronic gastritis caused by a virus and put me on a course of omeprazole. However i have had no stomach pain at all. Can this still be gastritis? I also have a weird feeling in my head, not painful but weird and slightly dizzy.
Have you tried anti-gas tablets?
Gastritis does cause stomach pain. However, since your doctor diagnosed gastritis, I would accept what you were told. Were you given an endoscopy to confirm it and tested for h pylori which can cause gastritis? Check on your medication leaflet to see if dizziness is a side effect of omeprazole. Can you describe the weird feeling in your head a little more? Is it a lightheaded feeling?
