I've been prescribed Hydroxyzine and been using it for about 3 weeks now. It helps slightly but wears off quickly. So, I saw my GP yesterday and she decided to put me on Propanolol. I took it this morning for the first time and felt almost completely calm for the first time in months. Then I googled it. Apparently, in some patients it causes heart failure. It also said it can't be quit cold turkey or you could have a heart attack. Is this warning mainly for those that use it for heart related issues, or for everyone? I have it specifically for anxiety. Has anyone used this? What was your experience?

Take the drug for the given period of four weeks and see how you get on. Your GP will be keeping an eye open watching any negative problems. Many medications have a tranche of side effects most are not that serious. When we take medications you will need to look at the negative and then the positive, we all have to look at does the cure outweigh the risk, life is like that. Life is one big risk I could go out tomorrow and get hit by a car ?
You will be ok, stop reading up on your medications, it will make nervous. Google is the wrong place to look.
There should be an instruction leaflet in the box the drug came in, if you must, read that, it will give you the odds.
