Pros and cons of YAG?

After considering options to correct my night driving glare and halos, my doctor is suggesting the Yag procedure. Ive just begun researching this and wonder what others have experienced.

Hi
Have you had lens implants?

Yes. 5 months ago. Have you had the Yag ?

hello we cant put links here but there is an interesting article in review of opthalmology : “PCO: Whats Wrong With Doing Jag?” it claims pts with positive dysphotopsiasis may not get better over time despite yag
i am amazed how many of us are offered this option for any issues we have after IOL implant. I was barely 6 weeks posts cataract surgery and told “not to worry, but eventually id need a yag procedure for PCO”

Yes, had YAG 12 months after implants I was complainimg of ghosting. Didnt cure ghosting! then left lens opacified 4 years later and due to having had YAG an explant op is very risky so have decided to live with.
If I had my time again would not have had YAG, surgeons seem to advise it as a cure all for everything

Thank you for your reply. Sorry that yag didn’t help you! My doctor has been mentioning it since the beginning of my recovery! I’m very sceptical that it would help!

sorry for any looking up article. Typo – its yag in title not jag (2nd language soft J like Y lol)

was this the m-plus occulentis lens that opacified?

Personally only reason one should have yag is for what they call secondary cataract - doubtful it helps with glare.

i would like to think that it helps with the glare brought on by PCO.

My doctor said that the glare may be from PCO that may have started forming right after the surgery, but if it can’t be detected it sounds like a guess. Wish he could see it to confirm his theory .
