Prostate PAE

Is anyone aware of where the PAE procedure is available in th UK.

Medication has minimal effect and from what I've read this procedure seems to cause the least problems.

Due to have further discussion with my doctor in a couple of weeks and would like to be in possession of as much info. as possible.

Southampton

I had PAE 2 months ago. Urine flow improved dramatically almost immediately. Apparently alpha -2 adrenergic receptors in the prostate muscle tissue get destroyed as the result of PAE and the effect is like from a large dose of Rapaflo or other alpha-2 blockers.

urinary frequency is also improving but slowly. Apparently it takes many month for the bladder to "calm down".

The procedure itself was easy. First couple of days I had a lot of pelvic discomfort and slight burning during urination. For the first 2 weeks There was blood an the urine and semen but not too uncomfortable. Erectile function was unaffected not better not worse.

Based on the personal experience I recommend this procedure. It was done by Dr. Ari Isaacson at the UNC. Great doctor, great facility. The cost was $6600.

Aintree Hospital in Liverpool.

Hi Graham

https://clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show/study/NCT02434575?term=pae&rank=2#contacts

This is a PAE trial run in the UK,. I Had my PAE done in February at Oxford under DR Tapping, Painless operation with minimal downtime. Get in quick as the study may be closed, i dont know.
