Prostate problems?

Hi I'm a 26 year old male and around 2 weeks ago I started getting mild pains in my groin area. The doctor examined me and said everything seems fine. Since then I have developed problems urinating ie going more often (a lot more often) and never feeling like I have fully emptied. I have had urine samples done where a little protein was detected but not much and no blood was detected nor was there sign of any infections. Today I urinated and passed blood my symptoms now include discomfort in the pereneal area and general genital discomfort. I have massaged my prostate myself this helped with the constant urinating and I couldn't feel any lumps on the prostate nor did it seem enlarged (in my amateur opinion of course)

I am absolutely terrified this could be prostate cancer which I am aware is very rare in younger men however not unheard of. I have also tested negative for chlamydia and gonnorhea. I am currently on vacation and will not be back in the uk until saturday when I will be going straight to a and e. I have bee. To the doctor here in france and they wasn't much help.

Could anyone give me any reassurances that this isn't cancer. I have heard of other things it could be such as non bacterial prostatitis for instance.

Please help sad

Hi,

The pain is worrying to you I'm sure, however, I wouldn't worry until you know specifically what it is. It is most likely to be something totally different to cancer. I had prostate pain approx 2 years ago for 5-6 weeks, it went away then came back again last year and lasted for another couple of months. Your mind plays games making you think it is cancer but for me it turned out that I had pelvic instability from an old injury 20 years ago, and my pelvis had got to the stage where everything was slighty out of kilter so all the muscles and tendons were under strain trying to keep the pelvis straight and this manifested itself as inflammation in the prostate. I now do pilates to build core strength. Keep you head on. I'm sure you'll be fine.

Hi Mark,

Thanks for your response.

I had an appoiontment with my GP this morning and she undertook another urine sample and found no blood, I told her my other symptoms and she didn't sound too concerened and informed me if blood appeared again to come straight back but at this moment in time there was no worries.

Now that you mention it I do have terrible core strength, posture and recently have been told by a sports rehabilitationist that I have 'twisted hips/pelvis'.

Your situation sounds similar to mine and I will also seek to improve core strength - thank you very much for the reply.

Hello Mark,

At your age it is quite unusual I think. The problem you mentioned is highly associated with prostate problem.I strongly advice you to take a second checkup.

Thanks
