Prostatitis After Oral Sex

I have same symptoms that started by same/similar cause (oral sex from a csw in Brazil in Dec 2018) and which I'm still dealing with. All urine cultures and std tests are negative. Only test I remain to get is a culture of prostatic fluid or semen but haven't been able to find in the U.S. a doctor that does or request that. May have to go to Latin America or somewhere else where they do that test.

Also been evaluating a psychological/anxiety / pelvic floor muscles cause for the pain to have remained so long. I'm reading headache in the pelvis book.

thats a great book. im reading it also. im having a semen test done next week...

How did you manage to get a semen test? I've asked around doctors in the U.S. and hard to find one that does or request it. In which country you live?

I live in California ( USA) however my Urologist is across the border in Tijuana MEXICO. He's board certified here in the states and a member of the American Urological Association.. He speaks perfect english and studied at Univ. of Miami ... This dude is legit.. Not to mention the cost is awesome ( 20.00 Dr. visits and the Semen and Urine test will only cost 40.00 USD ... My ultrasound was only 28 USD...

Awesome. I also live in California (SF Bay Area). Thanks for clarifying. Please keep us posted on how your tests go next week. We all can learn a lot from each other to end / mitigate this malady. I also plan to go to my home country in Latin America to look for a doctor that does this tests (to rule things out)

Will do.. Hopefully we can find whatever little bug is hiding in my system. I've been told its non bacterial prostatitis, because urine cultures and blood labs all came back clean (twice) event all STD screening was clean ( 3 times ) but i know my body better than anyone else and trust me something is not right.. Specially since it happened right after getting a Blow J** from someone. literally within 2 days... So we'll see what the semen test reveals and he is also talking about doing a 2 glass urine culture...

Doxy will not penetrate the prostate, however cipro ( Fluoroquinolones ) have been proven to penetrate the prostate. But Cipro is an 2nd generation antibiotic that treats gram negative organisms and some gram positive, including Staphylococcus aureus but not Streptococcus pneumoniae. Consider 3rd Gen antibiotic like Levofloxacin, or even better 4th gen Trovafloxacin because it has a everything the 3rd gen has plus broad anaerobic coverage. They have proven in studies to penetrate prostate at a 100% rate in both animal and human studies.. Suck that I cant take it because of the side effects.. So my Dr. gave me Bactrim...

Unfortunately, I haven't got it resolved. Its been crazy. I'm still dealing with the issue. It seems at times, theres no hope. No cure/resolve for our ailment.

I havent read the book and I dont plan to. My issues were caused from an oral sex event, others have their issues from just randomly experiencing pelvic pain one day. I feel like its more appropriate for that audience. None of the supplements ive ever taken has helped. Theres a more complex issue at hand.

Ive seen that before. Im not dealing with urethritis right now. Just chronic prostatitis. Currently looking to Focused Shockwave Therapy..

I'm on same boat as you. Symptoms that started after receiving unprotected oral sex from risky girl. I'm curious what is Focused Shockwave Therapy? what drove you to concider that? and how risky it is?

ive had multiple bouts of prostatitis it started as a Uti then morphed into acute prostatitis then bacterial prostatitis ( confirmed by prostate biopsy) then 3 years later came back as non bacterial ( chronic prostatitis or cpps) The only treatment that has worked for me is Diazapam( valium) This drug helps with anxiety and relaxes muscles. Anxiety definately makes the condition worse. Its for everyone but i can tell you it worked for me. Have a Google as im not alone. best of luck darren

that should have said its "NOT" for everyone

Why Is Valium Prescribed for Prostatitis?

Valium is a benzodiazepine. This is a class of psychoactive drug prescribed as a muscle relaxant and is also used to treat anxiety, insomnia, seizures, and panic attacks. Some doctors use Valium as a part of the treatment for chronic nonbacterial prostatitis and chronic pelvic pain syndrome (CPPS). This condition causes long-term pain and urinary tract symptoms but is not caused by a bacterial infection. In fact, the cause is often elusive and therefore difficult to treat because antibiotics are not effective. Some physicians believe that stress contributes to prostatitis, so they prescribe Valium as a calming agent. The drug also has been found to relax the pelvic muscles, therefore reducing the muscle spasms associated with CPPS and easing the pressure and pain for the patient. Another theory is that prolonged use as a muscle relaxant can replace physical drainage of the prostate.

Hey Huckleberry, hope all good! How did it go? (and which test did they perform?) Any new insights from the test results or the urologist?
