Prostatitis following cystosocpy

Hi all, Following my cystoscopy on Tuesday for an unrelated urinary issue, I have spoken with a different urologist who seems to believe that I now might be suffering from a case of Acute Prostatitis and that he has advised for me to take a course of antibiotics. I was just wondering whether this advice was reasonable and what antibiotics are the best ones to take. Many thanks

Best antibiotic to take is the one that cure the infection. Many uros give you one size fits all drugs. My understanding is the best way to get the correct drug is to get a fluid sample by massaging the prostate then having it cultured. Maybe that could also be done by masterbateing and having you ejaculate tested. It could also be non bacterial.

I am going to be submitting a semen sample ASAP. And yes, it could be non-bacterial. I tensed up quite badly during the procedure and think this might be what caused it. At the same time, it was an invasive procedure so who knows?
