Hi Jason here
I was wondering if anyone could help me
I think I have prostatitis I started last Wednesday
The only symptom I have is a constant need to urinate 24/7 it feels like I am going to wet myself
No pain of any kind anywhere no blood in urine
Or seman anyway I went to see the doctor he said I have prostatitis he give me a urine test that was clear he told me to try and cope till the following week to have a blood test anyway it was driving me insane so I went to see the out of hours doctor Sunday he put me on cripo it's now Thursday and
No change it my symptoms I don't know how long cripo takes to start working
So the results from my blood test come back all clear so I my blood test is all clear could I still have
Prostatitis
Many thanks Jason
Do you have pain, and how old are you? Maybe the antibiotic is the wrong one, or it can penetrate the prostatic infection or you just have an inflammed case of chronic prostatitis. Ciprofloxacin has anti-inflammatory properties, even if you do not have a bacterial infection, it can make you feel better. Can you get an erection, can you produce semen, ejaculate. Is there pain?
Hi Jasbol,
Is the doc you firs saw a urologist? Many GP's, and the docs in the "after hours" places, are really only trained/equipped to treat non-complicated urinary tract infections. You seem to have something more complex. Really don't want to take antibiotics if you don't need them and if you do need them you want to make sure you're taking the right ones for the right length of time.
But to answer your question, "yes" you could still have prostatitis with a clear urinalaysis and culture. It's called nonbacterial prostatitis and really needs a specialist to treat.

Hi thanks for your reply
No none of the doctors I saw were
Urologist
And I am 37
Thanks Jason
Need workup by urologist due to your age and symptoms, do not know all the details but its obvious, something is not right.
Boy, that is a tough one. There must be another doctor you can consult if your doc has no idea. Is he a urologist? To me to suddenly have your symtoms and your tests are clear seems strange.
Good luck.
"Urge incontinence", google it. You do not have prostatitis, IMO.
Urge incontinence is often associated with prostatitis. He needs to see a urologist to get it sorted out.

Hi went to see the doctor again
On Friday he said it probably have nonbactial
Prostatitis he told me to stay on the antibiotics
And he give me some tablets to try a relax my bladder muscles
And told me the nonbactial prostatitis will clear up on its own
Thanks Jason
