Hi, my gf has been tested for herpes but had no idea when or from whom. We had protected sex a few times. I know I’m at a slight risk even though she never had an outbreak We broke up so I will go get a test in 3 months.
If I’m clean( which I pray for), I’ll move on and not let her back into my life.(She dumped me after I was the one that stayed by her side after she found out) If I’m tested positive I surely will hate to pass this onto someone clean. I do not care how people say it’s not that bad or 1 in 6 Americans have it. It doesn’t justify me passing it to someone.
Should I retest before 90 days or check earlier?
I'm sorry about the pain that you might be feeling! If you had protected sex, then it is unlikely that she passed it to you. Also, if she wasn't having an outbreak at the time of protected sex, then it is even more unlikely .
However to answer your question, waiting 3 months is a good time to wait, sources say waiting 12 to 16 weeks to give more time for the antibodies to show (if any) is good.
Also, if you were to show any symptoms, they would show in about two weeks after exposure. So look for that, however, some people don't get symptoms at all, so still get tested if you feel like you should.

Thank you bro. My plan is to let her clear her mind and I’ll Also do a test in 4 months. I do still love and accept her despite that little bump but it hurts because it was tough time for both of us and I stayed with her. We cried together and I embraced her then two months later, she just walked out on me.
