I am on Fluoxetine - highest dose allowed , unfortunately they are not working for me , had them now for a year or so , been on all different anti-depressants these past 15 plus years. Now i have to ease off those before i start a new one , which Well-being Centre are you being referred to as they can help you understand why you are feeling how you are x

Many antidepressants do loose their ability to help after awhile. There are always others that works Hope the new one works just as well or better.

medication only works for a short time then your body gets used to it. when you come off the medication normally you end up feeling worse. i have found that taking supplements over a long period actually helps better than taking medication. i take supplements like fish oils and amino acids to boost my brain power. it makes me more relaxed and i find it easier to think. i think supplements really help because they are natural in the body compared to medication which are chemicals. supplements will take a few weeks to kick in though. some people feel better in only a few days some take longer.
o and also some techniques i use to make me feel better are things like; everytime i look in a mirror i give myself a smile, cheer for myself or give my self a thumbs up. this sounds really strange but it helps a lot. i read that you can trick your subconcious mind into feeling good. by looking at yourself and seeing a happy person you then become more happy yourself. you can also do things like buy new clothes, new makeup or new hairstyle. that also helps. I bought a new shirt one day and i wore it, the whole day i actually felt happy. i felt more attractive, more confident and even more intelligent! i wondered why i felt like that, so i looked it up on the internet and i read that looking good everyday can make a huge difference to your depression. hope this can help for you.
Thanks for your replys I've had a better day today very up and down but hope the meds will kick in

You will need to take each day at a time as some days you will perky , others not so and you don't understand , the meds usually take a few days to start acting , if you still don't feel that great after a time then return to your Doctor so he can adjust the dosage as these tablets act differently on ech of us , you take care x

Hi di, if Guard your true email address you probably shouldnt of posted it? My friend on this site warned me about things like that? Youve prob had lots of replies some good some bad? I choose to stick to this forum because advice i give may help others but Not necessarily the individual? Angel, been on fluoxetine, changed to mirtrazapine and now venlafaxine. They all take a long time to get into the system hun, they do eventually help in most cases angel so dont give up girl and at same time dont be so eager to give your details out as some people are likelly to take advantage Not carving about the impact on you? I wish you well and most others who read your post will feel the same, good luck hun, stay string
