It's 03:26 and I can't sleep! Got an appointment at 10:30 this morning and can't help but be worried in case I get hospitalised!
My GP stopped venlafaxine approx 3 weeks ago, I think, my brain is mush! Appalling withdrawals and he's now got me on mirtazapine to see me through to the Psychiatrst appt, who's been requested to review my medication!
I cut my thigh up pretty bad on Christmas Eve, due to depression/anxiety and anger and just feel I'm having periods of lack of control!
I'm probably overthinking the appointment but really don't want to be sent to hospital!
Don't know if my depression has worsened or it's the withdrawal of the venlafaxine that's making my brain freak out!
Hi Belinda is very very hard to come off from this medicine I hope you went down slowly but either way It took me almost 3 months to feel better I had also bad depression after taking the medicine off from my body eventually you will adjust but the withdrawals are really scary best of luck I am taking Cymbalta and I feel very good.stay positive you won't end up in the hospital.
Thank you angelitos, probably just overthinking my appointment due to lack of sleep and sitting here in the quiet while everyone else is asleep 😏
Yes I am sure is that also remember the withdrawals make you feel even worse than why you started taking the medicine ,it takes so much time and patience give yourself a chance to heal, meditation helped me a lot and sleep even during the day good luck tomorrow and remember Nothing stays the same everything keeps changing and things will get better I promise You.
Angelitos, when you stopped venlafaxine, did you find you had a very very short fuse, either with yourself or with others?
I've never been temperamental, in fact I'm normally the complete opposite, until now.
Even if I'm asked a simple question and I can't think of the answer, I get aggressively irate inside!
Yes thanks Gina, just replied to Lizzie, all going to be getting back on track! I didn't get hospitalised 🙂 But will have the team round my house every day short term till stable, then a meeting to plan long term recovery options, so there's a faint glow at the end of the tunnel!
Thanks for asking 😉
Hope you are well
Hugs
Belinda
im currently on 225mg of ven, terrified of coming off after hearing a lot of horror stories, luckily it seems to be working for me, are u in the uk?
Hi Gina 😉
If venlafaxine is working for you and you're obviously already on that particular Med, I wouldn't worry to much at this point of time about withdrawals. Although it's different for everyone, I gather from all the experiences I've read about, Including mine, it's definitely got to be stopped at a very slow rate! Although I followed my local GP and the hospital Dr's instructions, I definitely stopped too quickly!
My opinion, is to follow your body, taper to suit you, I unfortunately didn't as I thought the doctors knew best, but many on here will say to go very slowly
Glad it's working for you though
Belinda xx
Oh, and yes, I'm in Suffolk 😉
I had the crisis team round to my house short term too once, they are wonderful , hope you feel better soon xxx
Yes I did but I did noticed it right away so I stopped
