Has anyone received a trigger shot in the vulva to try and calm the nerve in the vulva. My GYN wants to do this on my next visit in mid September. I am also wondering if you can drive after receiving it. It is a 50 minute drive from her office to my home.
I would definitely get 100% of the details on that before doing anything. I knew this but here is what the practice says, literally about it.
What is trigger point therapy?
Trigger point therapy is a form of massage therapy. A trigger point is a small area of tightly contracted muscle. Pain from a trigger point travels to nearby areas. Trigger point therapy involves soft tissue massage to relax the tight area of muscle. A combination of an anesthetic drug and a steroid also can be injected into the trigger point to provide relief.
What are the long term effects of this show? Is there a risk of doing more damage to the area?
